IAN LACEY

DIRECTOR

Ian is a proud Mandandanji & Wakka Wakka man and has extensive experience in purchasing through suppliers. This provides Ian with a thorough understanding of what the client’s needs are and the barriers associated with the supply chain when manufacturing clothing and merchandise products.

Industry knowledge & experience include:

  • Managing the tender process for the production  of merchandise, orders exceeding $1 million dollars per annum
  • Managing the design process for approved artwork for catalogues
  • Managing the process for compiling orders, more than 30 partners within the network across Australia
  • Quality checking and signing off on merchandise orders and submitting to the supplier to begin production
  • Managing the relationship with the suppliers of merchandise

Ian has a strong management background, working multiple Senior Executive roles during his 10 years at the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health where he created and oversaw the implementation and evolution of the Deadly Choices brand/program.

Ian brings a working knowledge of the Indigenous Charity and Non-For-Profit industry and has many key contacts within the Rugby League industry, being a former professional Rugby League player to go with his strong people skills. Ian is also currently studying his MBA at the University of Queensland.

SELWYN APANUI

DIRECTOR

Selwyn is a proud Bundjalung man and has extensive experience in the sports administration industry, the non-for profit and volunteering sectors. Selwyn has been a selector and administrator for many representative sports, coached state teams and organised many community initiatives in various states of Australia. Selwyn has experience in various roles in the non-for profit and volunteering sectors, through these roles he has maintained strong working relationships that will give AKL exposure and publicity. Selwyn adds tremendous value to the team as he is intrinsically connected to many communities and sporting bodies throughout Australia, which will allow AKL to leverage off these already established relationships to form working partnerships for the company.
